Shireen at a Glance

Shireen is that type of gifted character who can never settle for doing one thing in life, or even one thing at a time. Yet she is also that type who will never take on a task or embark on a mission without giving it her full heart and attention. She does not settle for “ok” or “good”, she only accepts “splendid”!

A mother of two, an interior decorator, writer, and celebrated charity worker who paints and plays the piano. She thrives on keeping her hands full and attending to every urge inside of her. However, she firmly believes the beauty and success of a woman lie in both her resourcefulness and femininity. A woman is only ugly if she compromises her motherhood and family life. For Shireen, her children come first, and she says it without a grain of hesitation.

As a mother, professional, charity organizer, and social activist, her philosophy centers on the reality of inner beauty. People should reach inside themselves and love their inner selves. And for interiors, this inner beauty must reflect in the surroundings. Take a look at her home or office and you’ll know what that means.
She is crazy about beautiful materials and textiles and adores playing with colors. This is what makes her design process a pure expression of art. She is warm as a character and creative as a designer, but also prompt as a professional, says her clients. Shireen respects herself and others, which means that she delivers on her promises, and delivers with style.

InfluencesMadame Monira Husni

mh1Shireen’s grandmother, the late Munira Husni, was an inspiring role model. She was a leading advocate of women’s rights and an exceptional social activist starting in 1944.

Among a great number of things, Mrs. Husni was president of the Women’s Party and the Women of the Republic Union, and member of the workers’ Union and the Egypt-Europe Association. She wrote two books on social reform: A Diary of Women’s Associations and Marriage Divorce. She also contributed strategically and extensively to alleviating poverty and unemployment.

Mrs. Husni had a profound influence on Shireen’s character and life in two major ways. She influenced her deepest being and also shaped the life choices she made. The former is about her very personal relationship with God over which no one has any control. This is the essence of a person’s power. And the latter is the importance of giving to society and living for a cause greater that selfishness.

Childhood Inspiration

Psychologists affirm to an undeniable relation between our experiences as children and our characters as adults. We each have characters, stories, and other sources of inspiration that affected us immensely as children. The nature of these influences helped shape our interests and personalities as adults. In fact, we could confidently say ” Tell me who surrounded you and what you did as a child, and I will tell you who you are. ” So what influences, imaginary or real, helped shape Shireen Aql?

Angels

I believe in angels! The come to us in many different ways. I beleive God sends them to us through our kind friends and loved ones. They talk to us while we are sleeping. They are watching over us. When we feel we can’t go on, they are by our side encouraging us to move on. She believes God can even send them to us through a stranger, yet they know nothing about us but thier words or actions can calm your soul or even direct you.
I believe God can even send them to us through a stranger.
I believe that as babies, as children, that we played with angels.
Angels are said to speak to ur heart while we sleep.
Angels are said to be messengers of God.

I believe God sends them to us through nature – the restle of the leaves, the chirping of the birds, the wind against your skin – Elias Freeman
